Research Abstract	19世紀末に組織化を達成したホッケーは、統括組織の普及戦略のもと20世紀初頭にかけて緩やかに普及した。ただしこの普及期に活動していたのは統括組織加盟クラブだけではなかった。独自の活動を続けた非加盟クラブもあった。また加盟クラブから非加盟クラブへ、またはその逆への移行も見られた。クラブレベルの多様な実践が存在したのである。ホッケーの普及過程は、統括組織の普及戦略が貫徹された過程というよりも、非加盟クラブの独自な活動も含む重層的な過程であったと評価すべきである。
