Research Abstract

生殖細胞の研究は必須かつ急務だがヒトや高等生物では倫理的・技術的な問題を抱える。この問題を克服するため、生殖・減数分裂の研究に分裂酵母をモデル生物とし十数年前より研究を続けている。"他段階差引法"という独自技術とゲノム情報を基盤とした網羅的解析によって減数分裂特異的に転写誘導される遺伝子群の包括的単離と機能解析を行い、哺乳動物にも存在する遺伝子を多数同定・解析することで哺乳動物の生殖メカニズムへの理解を目指す。
