| Research Abstract |
ウズベキスタンなど中央アジアの5カ国は、1991年のソ連解体後、新しい独立国家として国際社会に参入した。これらの国々は、政治と経済の大転換を行うとともに、社会の安定をはかる努力を続けている。現在中央アジアが直面している課題は数多いが、この大転換期において社会の安定を支えているのは何だろうか。そこで注目されるのが、マハッラとよばれる近隣コミュニティの存在である。このマハッラは、転換期の中央アジアにおいても持続的な社会発展を支える組織、あるいは市民社会の基盤として関心を集めている。本研究は、現地の研究者と共同してウズベキスタンのマハッラに関する実態調査を行い、その現状と課題を解明することを目的として行われた。
