Research Abstract

本研究の主たる成果は,英語史における動詞屈折接辞の衰退と動詞第二位(V2)語順消失の相関関係を実証的・理論的に解明した点にある。本研究により,動詞屈折の豊かさが顕在的動詞移動の有無に影響を与えるという「豊かな一致の仮説」がV-to-T移動ばかりでなくV2移動にも当てはまることが明らかとなった。また研究の過程で,形態論と統語論のインターフェイスおよび文法化現象についても新たな知見を得ることができた。
