Research Abstract |
Effect of attention on processing of basic auditory features was investigated through several selective-adaptation experiments. Results of the experiments showed that processing of amplitude modulation of sounds is affected by attention, though detection of interaural time difference seemed not to be affected. These suggest that role of attention in basic auditory processing is more than to change characteristics at the auditory periphery.
