| Research Abstract |
ストレンジネス(sクォーク)を含む軽い原子核には、陽子と中性子のみからなる普通の原子核にはない非常にエキゾチックな性質があると期待される。そのような原子核の一つ「K原子核」(反K中間子(以下K^<bar>と記述)を含む原子核)を集中的に研究している。「原子核の密度は一定である(密度の飽和性)」という常識が原子核物理にはある。しかし原子核内にK^<bar>が入ると、K^<bar>と核子との間には非常に強い引力が働くため、原子核内部が高密度になる可能性が考えられる。この点においてK原子核は興味深い。また高密度状態はハドロン物理においても重要なトピックであり、その点からも関心がもたれている。
