Research Abstract

本研究では、大気や海洋中の重力波(浮力を復元力とする波)の放射過程を調べる。大気重力波は運動量を遠方まで輸送するため、中層大気の大循環を駆動する重要な働きを担っている。中層大気の大循環はオゾンや二酸化炭素などの物質輸送を通じて、気候変動に大きな影響を与える。このため、将来気候の予測において、重力波の励起問題は重要な研究課題となっている。近年の観測研究では、ジェット気流や台風等の強い渦的な流れから重力波が放射されているとの報告があるが、その放射過程についての理解は未だ十分でない。そこで本研究では、簡略化モデルを用いた数値的および理論的な研究によって、この重力波放射過程の解明を目標にする。
