Research Abstract

地球中心圧力365万気圧の超高圧力条件を実験的に再現し, この条件下で地球核構成物質である鉄系合金の結晶構造や物性を明らかにすることにより, 地球の内核を物質科学的に解明することを目的とした. 超高圧発生装置ダイヤモンドアンビルセルを用いた技術により, 地球内部で最も深部にある内核の圧力条件330-365万気圧を達成できる圧力発生技術が開発され, 地球中心核の構成物質である鉄, ニッケルおよび鉄系合金に関する密度・物性の測定が地球中心圧力まで可能となった.
