Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、新規バナジウム化合物 VO(OPT) による脳虚血後の神経細胞新生促進作用のメカニズムと神経新生と認知機能改善効果の関わりを明らかにすることである。本研究において、バナジウム化合物の神経新生促進作用を確認した。VO(OPT) の特徴として新生ニューロンの産生数を増加させるだけでなく、新生ニューロンの移動・成熟にも影響することが示唆された。さらに、未成熟なニューロンのマーカーを用いて VO(OPT) により新生ニューロンの移動も促進されていることが明らかとなった。最終的に、行動薬理学的な解析によって、VO(OPT) により歯状回顆粒細胞下層で新生した神経細胞が学習・記憶形成に重要な役割を果たしていることが示唆された。
