Research Abstract

インテグリンのα鎖とβ鎖の機能発現に最低限必須であるN-結合型糖鎖付加部位を決定した(Isaji etal J. Biol. Chem., 284, 12207-12216, 2009)。これにより、元来非常に困難であったこの受容体に基づいた薬物デザインに有益である結晶構造解析が可能になるかもしれない。さらに特定のN-結合型糖鎖付加部位が機能調節に重要であることを世界で初めて明らかにした(Sato et al J. Biol. Chem., 284, 11873-1188, 2009)。糖鎖は、ランダムに修飾され、ヘテロな構造を示すと考えられてきたが、リン酸化のように付加部位に特異的な構造と機能を持っている可能性がある。
