| Research Abstract |
マラリア原虫の赤血球侵入分子EBLは原虫の赤血球侵入にとって必須なリガンド分子であり、かつ重要なワクチン候補分子でもある。本研究により、EBL分子の機能不明なシステインに富んだ領域6が、細胞内輸送におけるマイクロネームへの輸送を決定する部位である事、ネズミマラリア原虫Plasmodium yoelii17X株と17XL株の赤血球への感染性の違いは、領域6のアミノ酸置換を原因とするEBL分子の異なった細胞内小器官への局在が原因である事が明らかとなった。
