| Research Abstract |
本研究では、中国四川大地震でも多く見られたウエルシュ菌によるガス壊疽の主要な病原因子であるα毒素による細胞膜破壊作用とリン脂質代謝との関係に注目し解析した。α毒素が血中に移行すると高度の溶血を示すことから、赤血球膜破壊作用を指標に検討した。その結果、本毒素は、不飽和脂肪酸を有するリン脂質を特異的に代謝亢進させることにより、血球膜の恒常性の破綻をきたしていることが判明した。また、不飽和結合を有するリン脂質の増加は、細胞膜の不安定化、あるいは、老朽化の指標となることも示唆された。
