| Research Abstract |
インフルエンザウイルスに感染した患児が、インフルエンザ脳症や多臓器不全を併発する機序にっいて解析した。その結果、1)小児は生体内のエネルギー産生を糖代謝ではなく脂質代謝に大きく依存しており、2)脂質代謝に関連する遺伝子に先天性の遼伝子多型が存在する場合、特に脳・心臓等の組織でエネルギーが枯渇状態に陥ることを証明した。さらに、末梢血から患児のインフルエンザの重症度を迅速に診断可能なシステムを開発することに成功した。
