Research Abstract

脊髄損傷モデルマウスに対し、神経幹細胞移植にバルプロ酸投与を併用し、その治療効果と治療メカニズムについて詳細な検討を行った。その結果バルプロ酸投与により、移植した細胞のニューロン分化が促進され、宿主の神経細胞とシナプスを形成していることが分かった。錐体路のトレーシング実験では、移植した神経細胞が損傷した神経回路をリレーするように再建している様子が観察された。移植細胞を特異的に除去すると、一度改善した運動機能が再度悪化することからも、移植細胞が直接的に損傷脊髄の再建に貢献していることが推察された。
