Research Abstract

ウィスター系ラットを用いて、痛みとストレスの行動学的な解析行った。全身麻酔下で、脳手術にて脳慢性電極を埋め込み、視床下部ニューロン活動の記録した。同時に、咬筋の筋電図を記録した。一群は口腔内にCo-Cr合金からなる矯正装置を切歯部に接着した。この装置は50グラム相当の力を発揮するものであった。もう一群は対照としてシャム装置を接着した。結果として、実験群のラットには装置接着後の一日目に痛みやストレスを示す行動の増大を認めた。拘束に対するストレス応答が増大し、辺縁系を含めた高次機能へのストレスの影響がうかがえる。ラットの臼歯部に矯正力を加えたことによって、摂食行動は低下した。また、咬筋の筋電図活動は高かった。視床下部ニューロンの発火活動は実験群が対照群より低い頻度を認めた。
