Research Abstract

17 世紀半ば~19 世紀半ばまでのオランダによる長崎からの主要輸出入品の英文データベースを作成し、主要商品である金属の輸出(貨幣鋳造材料の銀および銅・金)と繊維製品の輸入(生糸・各種織物)の長期的なトレンドを分析した。そして最終的に繊維産業を中心とした近代日本の工業化成功の歴史的基盤の解明につなげるべく、近世のグローバルな経済ネットワークの中の日本貿易の位置づけと、海外貿易が国内社会経済に与えた影響とを検討した。
