Research Abstract	物質生産向上には、作土からの水分や栄養吸収を促進させることが有効な方法の一つである。すなわち、これらの吸収を担っている根を拡大させることで、作物の生産性の向上が期待される。しかし、作物の根の発達を制御している遺伝子やその機構は、ほとんどわかっていない。そこで、申請者は、物質生産が低下したイネの自然突然変異系統を単離し、根系の形との関連を調査するとともに、原因遺伝子の同定を行った。
