Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Through the second year, we studied the chipset biosensor design for monitoring of neurotransmitters secreted from living cells (SHSY-5Y and PC12). The chipset biosensor was fabricated using photolithography using gold and formed interdigitated electrode array (IDA). The IDA showed high performance and high electrochemical activity at low sample volume and low power consumption. The designed materials of heteroatoms doped carbon (N- and P- doped carbon) displayed a highly stable materials with low cytotoxicity and high compatibility. The designed IDA electrode was modified by the synthesized carbon materials for stabilising the neurotransmitters chipset nanobiosensor with high stability and reproducibility. The designed chipset nanobiosensors indicated a sensitive and selective assay for detection of dopamine, adrenaline, noradrenaline, and acetylcholine from various resources such as human blood serum and neuronal cell line models of SHSY-5Y and PC12. The designed chipset nanobiosensors exhibited high signal stability, low detection limit, low power consumption, economical value, on-site detection, fast response (5-10 s), and low sample volume (10uL). Therefore, we successfully designed a portable chipset nanobiosensor for sensitive and selective monitoring of neurotransmitters in their resources and receptors. Furthermore, theses designed portable nanobiosensors can be used for follow -up and diagnosis of neuronal disorders such as schizophrenia, Alzheimer, and Parkinson’s diseases.
