Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Artificial intelligence (AI) based cognitive technologies are rapidly becoming common in the service system. Therefore, the roles of these technologies are on a trajectory of increasing agency and self-directed interactions with other actors in the service systems. With this in mind, we developed a framework for service systems in which AI-based cognitive assistants (CAs) become responsible actors in the service system. The result was presented and published in the 54th Hawaii International Conference on System Science (HICSS54) which is one of the most prestigious conferences in Management Information Systems. In addition, we also proposed a framework of how AI-based technologies could be applied for the integration of the service ecosystem at the bottom of the pyramid (BOP) for improving the quality of life. The result was presented at the 7th International Conference on Serviceology.

Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to COVID-19 situations, we were unable to conduct field visits in Bangladesh.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We have successfully conducted interviews and surveys over the mobile from the service receivers of microfinance programs of BRAC, Bangladesh. BRAC is the number one development organisation in the world, dedicated to eradicating poverty and making positive changes in people’s life. Now we are analysing the data for writing journal papers which will be submitted to the Journal of Service Research and Service Science.
