Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Monitoring chemical and biological compositions of bio-fluids in human body is a key parameter of for diagnosing diseases nowadays. For continuous monitoring, a promising candidate is the porous microneedles. Porous microneedles made of biodegradable and bio-compatible materials, processed to make them porous are attractive alternative for continuous sensing and diagnosis of bio-fluids. In this research, glucose sensing through the microneedles were achieved using the experimental array presented previously. Indeed, a better understanding of the mechanism involved in the fluid collection was achieved as well as an optimization of the process: temperature of treatment, ratio porogen/material. Full characterization of the device including mechanical strength, fluid intake, SEM observation has been done.
