膵癌撲滅に向けたバイオ医薬品開発を最終目標として、膵癌の表面抗原に対するモノクローナル抗体の作成を行った。

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

膵癌は生物学的悪性度の極めて高い疾患である。近年、分子標的薬が脚光を浴び様々な癌種で有用性が認められているが、膵癌においては未だ十分な効果が得られていない。膵癌治療において、新しい治療標的の発見を視野にいれた研究は非常に重要であり、かつ切望されている。
