Outline of Opinions Expressed in the Review Results

研究代表者のオリジナルなアイディアに基づいて国際協力体制で開発が進んでいる、「瞳分光」と呼ばれる全く新しい超高安定分光装置を用いた安定性の評価を行うものであり、10万分の1の精度を実現することが目的である。
「瞳分光」により望遠鏡の姿勢変化に影響されずに高精度の分光観測が可能になれば、系外惑星の食（主星の前面の惑星通過、あるいは逆に惑星が主星に隠れること）を利用して 惑星大気の分光観測が可能になり、系外惑星の大気組成、生命活動の可能性についての理解が進むことが期待できる。
