Outline of Annual Research Achievements

すでに採取した岩石地層試料について追加の野外調査と室内での化学分析を行い、本研究計画のメインテーマである過去の地層中からの地球外物質流入の痕跡に関して、以下の成果を得た。
日本のジュラ紀付加体中に含まれる層状チャートを対象とした研究から,古生代ペルム紀から中生代三畳紀までの約5千万年に及ぶ長期の地球外3Heフラックスの時間変動を復元した.その結果,ペルム紀中期および三畳紀中期に,地球外3Heフラックスの高い時期があったことが明らかになった.また主要・微量元素濃度分析に基づく古環境復元からは,これら地球外3Heフラックスが高い時期には,陸上の乾燥化・寒冷化が進んだことが明らかになった.これらの知見はこれまでに全く報告されていなかったものである.
これらに基づく成果を、国際学術誌での論文公表(Isozaki, 2023a Jour. Geol. Soc. London; Isozaki, 2023b Paleont. Research; Du, Onoue et al., 2023 Front. Ecol. Evol.; Matsumoto, Ishikawa et al., 2023 Sci. REportsなど)、複数の国際学会(2023年7月STRATI2023@Lille, France; Int. Soc. Ordovic. Syst. 2023@Tallinn, Estonia; 8月2nd Asian Palent. Cong.@Tokyo)および国内学会(2023年2月日本古生物学会@福岡;5月日本地球惑星科学連合学会@幕張;9月日本地質学会@京都;2024年1月日本古生物学会@仙台)での口頭発表を行い、報告した。
さらに、本研究テーマに関連する白亜紀や新生代の絶滅関連時期の地層についても追加調査を行なった。
