Outline of Annual Research Achievements

表面プラズモン共鳴を利用した機能材料の開発において、汎用元素を利用した安価なプラズモン材料の新規創成およびそのプラズモン材料を基盤とした高性能触媒の開発を実施した。さらにプラズモン共鳴による触媒活性発現の機構を理解しながら、プラズモン材料と触媒活性点とをハイブリッド化することで表面プラズモン共鳴を利用する高性能触媒の開発を行った。特に今年度では、以下の点を明らかにできた。
①グラフェン膜をシェルとするプラズモン材料の開発:ホットエレクトロンを効率よく反応基質へ輸送することを目的として、表面プラズモン共鳴を示すAuナノロッドの周辺を優れた電気伝導性を有する還元型酸化グラフェン(rGO)層で被覆した複合材料を開発した。アスペクト比の異なるAuロッドを調製し、最適構造を明らかにした。
②プラズモン材料と触媒活性種との融合:①において開発したプラズモン材料と触媒活性種(シングルサイト触媒)との複合化を行った。ハイブリッド材料のナノ構造と異種金属との接合状態を精密制御と構造解析を行うことで、広範囲な可視光吸収および赤外応答性のある触媒を開発した。
③プラズモン共鳴を利用した新たな触媒反応プロセスの探索:②において開発したプラズモン材料と触媒活性種の融合触媒を利用して、その特徴を生かした触媒反応系を目指した。カップリング反応や過酸化水素合成に触媒活性を示すことを明らかにした。
④反応機構およびプラズモン作用機構の解明:可視光照射下でのin-situ DRIFT, in-situ XAFSを駆使した局所構造解析(オペランド観察)、反応メカニズムの解明、表面プラズモン共鳴による触媒作用促進メカニズムの解明を行った。
