Outline of Opinions Expressed in the Review Results	新しい環境への適応能が表現型多様性をうむ基礎にあるという仮説の検証を目指して、トゲウオ系統のクロマチン構造に着目する進化遺伝学的研究である。海水から淡水への適応に関係する遺伝子を網羅的に探索し、候補遺伝子およびクロマチン構造の多様性を系統間で比較することを計画している。クロマチン構造の違いが多様性の出現と維持に影響するという仮説は、明確かつ魅力的である。代表者らのチームはFads2遺伝子のコピー数が淡水進出への鍵となっていることをすでに発見しており、進化生物学の領域に新しく重要な進展をもたらすものと期待される。
