本研究は、介助者と被介助者との間に必要な信頼関係を、人間とその人間を支援するロボットとの間にも必要であるという考えの下、人間とロボットが互いに行動を予測しつつ適応的に反応できる「相互誘導」の実現を図ろうとするものである。その特色は、ロボットからの能動的な働きかけによって、人間には認知的・心理的・物理的な誘導を促すインタラクションの構築である。
現状では人間の内部をセンシングしても、それをロボットの行動として生成し、相互に理解しあうまでには至っていないので、実現できれば介護の現場等での応用が期待できる。
