Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research made an empirical analysis on pension issues. It deepened public understanding on pensions, clarified current and future situations of economic well-being for Japanese people, examined an incentive mechanism in the pension system, and provided solid policy recommendations, by using several surveys including the Longitudinal Survey of Employment and Fertility.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

日本における年金加入記録の転記データは、最長で50年あまりに及ぶ各人の公的な年金加入記録を、アンケート回答者の一人ひとりに年金ネットを介して転記するように求めたものである。情報量が膨大なパネルデータであり、その類例は世界に殆どない。本研究プロジェクトでは、このデータを主に活用し、新たな知見を幾つか得た。そして、それらの知見に基づいて具体的な年金改革案を政府に提案した。
