| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project aims to elucidate the impact of the liquidity of management resources, such as people, goods, and money, on the generation and cost of innovation. Prior studies have suggested that high liquidity promotes innovation, and policies have been introduced in various countries to this end, but the empirical evidence is not clear. We have published empirical papers using databases we have constructed, for example, the SBIR program in the U.S., which suggests that R&D subsidies to startups increase entrepreneurial opportunities and reduce the level of basic R&D. In addition, three books have been published during the study period, and one more book is planned for publication in FY2024.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
ヒト・モノ・カネといった経営資源の流動性を上げることが、日本企業にとって重要であると一般的には考えられるようになってきた。労働市場の流動化やスタートアップ企業への柔軟なファイナンス、技術の市場を利用したオープンイノベーションの進展などである。本研究では、それらの流動性を高めることが本当にイノベーションにつながるのかを分析してきた。そして、基礎的な研究開発と用途開発をめぐるトレードオフがあることを確認している。
