ナノ多孔性エレクトライドを用いたCsフリー高ビーム電流密度水素負イオン源の実現

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

理想的な条件でアルカリ金属並みの2.4 eVという低仕事関数を持つC12A7エレクトライド表面について、水素負イオン源で用いる水素放電条件での仕事関数を調査しすると、2.6 eVと理想的な条件下に近い値と得ることができた。C12A7エレクトライド表面の仕事関数と水素負イオン生成量の関係を調査すると、低仕事関数であるほど水素負イオン生成量が増加する傾向がみられた。C12A7エレクトライドにバイアス電圧を印加した場合の軽水素および重水素負イオン生成量から、水素負イオン生成量の同位体効果は水素正イオンがC12A7エレクトライドへ入射する速度により説明ができることが分かった。
小型ECR水素負イオン源(放電電力50W)において、負イオン源プラズマとビーム境界でかつ水素負イオン生成面であるC12A7エレクトライド製プラズマ電極にテーパー加工を施した。テーパー面を上流にした場合、テーパー面を下流にした場合と比べて4倍以上のビーム電流を得た。参照材料のモリブデンではC12A7エレクトライドほどの差はみられなかったこのことから、テーパー加工によりビーム引出孔近傍の水素負イオン生成面が広くなったことが水素負イオンビーム電流の増加に繋がったと示唆された。
核融合用もしくは大型加速器用負イオン源の放電電力は100kW程度であり、これまでのC12A7エレクトライドを用いた研究との間に放電電力の大きな乖離があった。本研究では既存のさまざまな水素負イオン源の研究を参照しながらkW級放電電力を持つ水素負イオン源のプラズマ放電部を模したプラズマ源を製作し、kW級放電におけるC12A7エレクトライドの性能評価を行った。このプラズマ源において、参照材料のSUS304とC12A7エレクトライドの近傍のプラズマパラメータを評価することにより、kW級放電においても明らかに水素負イオンが生成されることが示された。
