Outline of Final Research Achievements

Spatial Computable General Equilibrium (SCGE) models have been developed and applied as methodologies to comprehensively evaluate the economic effects and spatial spillovers of infrastructure development policies. This study deepened the SCGE modeling technology by addressing the new development of the spatial characteristics where the existing SCGEs have not established yet. Specifically, we have established a methodology that appropriately handles "economy of agglomeration" and "detailed regional classification", which are not well organized in the existing SCGE models. Furthermore, we verified the usefulness of the methodology by applying it to an actual road transportation improvement project.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

交通政策分析に適用した研究実績が国内外を通じて蓄積しているにも関わらず，輸送・交通を表現する技法が統一的な方法論として確立されておらず，世界的にも様々な技術が乱立している状況にある．特に近年の経済地理学理論発展に伴い重要性が指摘されている，経済集積による外部性（経済集積の進展がさらに集積を誘発させる効果）が十分に考慮されていないこと，都市圏における政策評価では，市町村レベルのような詳細な地域分割単位での分析が求められるが，ほとんどの既存手法ではより大きな地域単位しか扱えていないことが，主な課題である．本研究成果によって，これらの課題を解決する方法論が確立された．
