Keywords | phylogeography / southern edge population / subalpine forests / MIG-seq / whole chloroplast |
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1. Field work except for parts of western Japan and Tohoku was completed. 2. Whole chloroplast genomes were assembled for all species. 3. A paper about the range-wide genetic diversity at nuclear SSR loci was completed for one of the target species, Thuja standishii.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to the amount of sampling involved in this study and also the impact of covid-19 the project has been progressing slower than I would have liked.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The final year of the project will involve sampling in Tohoku and parts of western Japan, doing the chloroplast DNA sequencing based phylogeographic studies and doing the MIG-seq analyses.
