Outline of Final Research Achievements

New alternative energy production is one of the global issues toward sustainable future society. Marine bio-energy production is involved in this study area. We have studied characterization of marine hydrogen-producing vibrios using genome comparison and cellular physiological approaches.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

得られた研究成果は，マリンビブリオの主要水素生成マシナリーであるHyf複合体を精製し，構造機能相関のさらなる理解に活用し，海洋バイオ水素生成能の飛躍的な向上にフィードバックするための基盤的知見と技術の進展を進める。また，得られた知見は，二つのタイプのFHL複合体成立への道筋とComplex Iへの分子共生進化への解釈にも活用できる。
