Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to experimentally determine the structural and mechanical properties of cytoskeletal structures in living cells. By constructing a new intracellular magnetic tweezers using a magnetic liquid, we succeeded in applying external force directly to microtubules and actin skeletons and observing the remaining structural changes using a confocal microscope.
