森林光合成とフェノロジーへの気候変動ストレス影響の生理生態学的解明と将来変動予測

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

落葉広葉樹林／高山における20年以上の炭素収支や気象の観測データにより年変動と長期トレンドを解析した結果，台風による林冠の撹乱及びその後の再生に伴う炭素収支の変動実態が明らかになった。また気温の年変動は樹木の展葉・落葉，光合成能の季節的成長・老化パターンの変化を通じて炭素収支の季節性を変化させていた。年間炭素収支と環境要因には特有の相関が見られたが，特に近年ではこれらの関係性が変化する傾向が見られ，夏季の高温や豪雨等の極端気象の頻発化が気候変動ストレスとして影響を及ぼしている可能性が示された。
落葉広葉樹林／苫小牧における林冠画像のRGB情報を活用した気象害（極端気象によるストレス）検出法を考案した。画像から算出したGreen Ratio（GR）の季節変動を標準化し，そこからのGR低下率を指標として強風による早期落葉と樹種間差を評価することに成功した。
高山では林冠ならびに個葉の分光反射の長期観測データを用いて森林の林冠構造に着目して光合成機能のリモートセンシング技術の検証を行い，葉の生理学的特性と解剖学的特性の季節的な変化が森林全体の季節的な変化に影響していること，及び太陽光励起クロロフィル蛍光の指標としての有効性を解明した。
東アジア域における植物季節と土地利用土地被覆のリモートセンシング観測に関する最新の知見・課題・展望の議論を総説論文として出版した。近年の高頻度・高空間分解能衛星は，特に熱帯域における植物季節と土地利用土地被覆の観測を高精度化し，生態系機能や生物多様性の理解を深化させる可能性を示唆した。また同様の観点から，日本の落葉広葉樹林を事例として生理生態学，微気象観測を含む多様な手法による光合成機能の解明と気候変動影響評価の技術的課題及び広域への展開可能性について総説論文を出版した。
なお本課題は村山昌平氏（産業技術総合研究所）を研究協力者に迎えて実施した。
