Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research has progressed as planned according to the research plan outlined for FY2021-2022. An extremely large amount of data has been recorded with the Neuropixel probes from mice performing memory dependent tasks, with both electrophysiology and behavioural analysis recorded simultaneously. Data analysis is currently being conducted, however given the large amount of data that is generated, and the multiple steps that are required for data analysis, this is the most time consuming step regarding the experiments. Spike sorting using kilosort, together with the preprocessing of data, such as concatenation and filtering are particularly slow. There was also a large investment of time in writing custom Matlab scripts to deal with synchronizing all the various data streams.
