| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
最終年度についても前同様、多数の科学的エビデンスを樹立し、23本の国際誌英文原著論文ならびに13件の国際学会演題として発表した。
特に生活習慣病の代表格である糖尿病に関しては、多くの成果が得られた。たとえば、近年の日本人２型糖尿病患者における食事内容と身体活動量の実態を同一集団において明らかにし、その食事内容の最近２０年間の変遷を明らかにできたこと、新たな食事内容評価の指標である「エネルギー密度」について、肥満との関連を２型糖尿病患者において明らかにできたこと、日本人を対象にした境界型を含む糖尿病の有無別の、一次、二次予防別の脳卒中リスクのプロファイルの詳細が解明できたこと、経口糖尿病薬のアドヒアランスと血糖コントロールや合併症との関連を明らかにし、さらにアドヒアランスの血糖コントロールとの組み合わせにより、糖尿病による足壊疽高リスク者を同定し得たことなどが挙げられる。さらに、日本人２型糖尿病患者を対象とする治療薬の医療経済評価モデルを構築し社会実装した。また、塩分摂取量と心不全リスクとの関連をメタアナリシスにより明らかにし得た一方、高齢糖尿病患者では若年患者とは異なり、塩分摂取量が必ずしも心血管疾患等の合併症と有意に関連しないことも報告した。
糖尿病以外についても、日本人における身体活動量と脂質異常症発症との関連、前屈テストによる体柔軟性と高血圧発症との関連、身体活動量と難聴発症との関連など興味深い結果が報告できたことの他、健診ビッグデータ解析によるCOVID-19による自粛生活の健康状態への影響も報告した。研究手法開発としては、診療報酬請求データベースにおいて、病名のみに頼らずに寿命や健康寿命に悪影響を及ぼす重篤アウトカムを同定する手法の妥当性を証明し得たことも特記すべき成果で、本法普及の礎を築くことができた。
