Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題は,次々世代のディスプレイ技術と期待されているホログラフィック3次元ディスプレイで課題となっている,(1) ホログラム計算の高速化,(2) より簡易な光学システムの実現,(3) 高画質な再生像を得ることができるホログラム最適化技術,について研究開発を行うものである.(1)に関して,ホログラフィックディスプレイに使える特殊なスパース点拡がり関数を2種類(radial PSFとwindmill PSF,PSFはpoint spread function)設計し,画質を落とさずに計算を高速化できることを示した.前者の点拡がり関数は,視点固定のホログラフィックヘッドマウントディスプレイでは,観察に不要な計算領域を削除し点拡がり関数をスパース化することで,計算高速化ができる.後者は,より一般的な裸眼タイプのホログラフィックディスプレイの計算高速化を行なうために,radial PSFを風車のように回転させる手法を開発した.(2)に関しては,特殊な光学素子をホログラムと観察者の間に配置することで,ホログラム表示素子の空間帯域幅積を拡大できる手法を開発した.この効果をシミュレーションで確認した.(3)に関しては,ホログラムの最適化技術として,これまでに反復計算を必要とする最適化計算が使われてきたが,深層学習ベースのホログラム最適化技術を開発した.この技術をレンズが必要のないホログラフィックプロジェクタ上でその効果を確認した.
