Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we showed that the user's embodiment (senses of ownership and agency, perception of self-body size, non-assertiveness toward self-actions, evaluation of self-actions, etc.) changes through manipulating the apparent and the visual movement of the avatar reflecting current or past self- gross movements. Based on these results, we investigated the feasibility of a VR physical communication extension that changes the user's attitude and behavior toward others, and tide of the game based on the visual manipulation of the avatar that each of users use. Evaluation experiments with male subjects showed that the visual information of avatars used by self and others strongly affects not only the physicality of users but also their interpersonal cognition in physical communication. It also showed that the psychological and physical relationships between users based on their interpersonal cognition and tide of the game may be changed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
