Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Tropical plants are considered a major source of natural methyl chloride, an important ozone-depleting substance. We quantified leaf methyl chloride emissions from dipterocarp trees and found that the variations in emissions of methyl chloride correlate with the relevant enzymatic activity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
