Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では、電子デバイス、情報処理端末の高性能化、超低消費電力化に革新をもたらす技術へと発展することを期待し、スピントロニクスにおいてこれまで開拓されていないノンコリニア(非共線的)な磁気構造の持つ機能性とその利用方法を明らかにすることを通して、スピントロニクスの新たなパラダイム「ノンコリニアスピントロニクス」を開拓することを目指している。カイラルスピン構造の電流駆動や、仮想磁場の機能性素子応用などに取り組み、不揮発性メモリ、脳型情報処理の新基盤を構築する。
2022年度は2021年度までで構築したノンコリニア材料の作製技術と基本物性、動的特性に関する知見、理解を基礎に、主にノンコリニア磁気構造の機能性素子応用に向けた物性・材料研究を推進した。具体的な成果として、
(1) 磁気カー効果顕微鏡を用いたノンコリニア反強磁性Mn3Sn薄膜の磁区構造と磁場によるその変化の観察。(2) 層状反強磁性物質であるTaFe1.25Te3における異方性磁気抵抗の測定。(3) FeRh合金において生成されるスピン軌道トルクの反強磁性・強磁性相転移に伴う変化の観測。(4) 新たな学術パラダイムとして期待される「コヒーレント反強磁性スピントロニクス」に関するレビュー論文の発表。(5) ノンコリニア反強磁性Mn3Snナノドットの熱安定性の測定。

Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

ノンコリニア反強磁性Mn3Sn薄膜の磁区構造や熱安定性など、ノンコリニア反強磁性体のデバイス利用を進める上で不可欠な性質に関して、深く踏み込んだ研究を行うことができ、当初計画通りに進捗しているものと判断できる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本課題の研究期間は2019年度から2023年度であり、2022年度の予算の一部を2023年度に繰り越して使用したことから、本欄は研究期間終了後である2024年4月に記載している。このことから、以下では、2023年度に実際に行った研究内容の概要を記載するものとする。
2023年度はノンコリニア反強磁性体のカイラルスピン構造を対称性の観点で記述する磁気八極子のスピン軌道トルクへの応答や、ノンコリニア反強磁性体と非磁性重金属の界面で形成される特異なスピン構造とその性質について詳しく調べ、従来のコリニアスピントロニクスとの違いや機能性などについて明らかにした。
