Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, through sculptural expression studies focusing on tactility, surveys on touchable appreciation support practices, and the practice of exhibits and appreciation support assuming touch, the nature of sculptural expressions incorporating 'haptic images' and the potential for developing touchable art appreciation were explored. As a result of the expression studies, material transformation using a mixture of mortar and plaster and the technique of direct attachment were deepened, presenting practical examples of sculptural expressions that withstand touchable appreciation. In the surveys, the focus was drawn to the uniqueness of appreciation support in Japan, which began in the late 1960s, highlighting its characteristic features of artists' autonomous activities. Based on these, in the practice of exhibits and support, the importance of production traces in 'haptic images' and the necessity for active involvement along with a supportive stance were confirmed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
