Outline of Annual Research Achievements

共同研究者二人（Sang-Hee Park氏とErika Bellingham氏）と日本語と韓国語の因果関係の直接性と形態統語的統合の関係に関する論文を書き、他の6名の海外研究者と因果関係を表す事象に使われる構文の意味論研究に関する本のチャプターを共同執筆した。
令和元年8月に行われた国際認知言語学会で "Causation in discourse and cognition: Crosslinguistic perspectives" と題するセッションを Anja Latrouite氏と Juergen Bohnemeyer氏と企画し、セッションの中で一件の発表を行ない、他の研究者たちとの意見交換をした。
令和元年6月29日～7月23日および令和2年2月28日～3月26日にエチオピアのシダーマ・ゾーンにおいて、令和元年12月17日～令和2年1月6日にウガンダのカプチョーワにおいて、フィールドワークを行い、それぞれシダーマ語とクプサビニィ語のデータを収集した。日本語のデータは年間を通じて時間のあるときに採った。
平成31・令和元年度の上記期間以外は、出版予定の原稿の修正、今後発表する論文の執筆、学会発表を行うための準備、そのための資料収集等を行った。
本研究課題は、言語におけるアイコニシティの問題を言語使用において分析し通言語的研究を行なっているという点で価値があると言えると思う。

本研究課題を通して国際的共同研究を積極的に行なうことができている。
日本において日本語のデータを、フィールドワークでシダーマ語とクプサビニィ語のデータを採ることができた。
発表の準備と論文の執筆の過程でデータをまとめ、データの分析と理論的問題に関する議論を共同研究者と行なうことができた。
多くの学会や研究会に参加して、成果を発表することができただけでなく、発表時間外の時間を使い、他の研究者たちと意見交換を行なうことができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続き、ニューヨーク州立大学バッファロー校を始めとする海外の研究者たちと共同研究を行なう。電子メールや会議用アプリケーションを使い議論を行なう。できればバッファローで研究打ち合わせを行なう。
日本で日本語のデータを、エチオピアのシダーマ・ゾーンでシダーマ語のデータを、ウガンダのカプチョーワでクプサビニィ語のデータを収集する。
データをもとにして理論的問題を扱う論文を書き、できる限り国際的な場で発表する。成果を国際査読ジャーナルに投稿するために原稿の執筆を行なう。今年度は、5月に日本アフリカ学会で本課題を含む研究方法に関する発表「ビデオ実験による形態統語論・意味論・語用論の類型的研究」を行ない、秋か冬にサンクト・ペテルブルクの Russian Academy of Sciences 言語類型論研究所で行なわれる（5月に予定されていたが、延期）理由・因果関係の構文に関する類型論の学会に参加して、"Causer intentionality, causer type, and agentivity in causative event descriptions" と題する発表を行ない、因果関係の事象を表す構文の動作主性に関する言語間の違いについて実験データを示して論じる。

例年8月にウガンダでフィールドワークを行なっていて、その計画をしていたが、国際認知言語学会が8月6-11日にあり、その前後に校務があったため、行くことができなかった。
