Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Casual conversations, regardless of their content, encompass fundamental language skills that foster connections between individuals. This study aims to investigate the developmental process of this ability, which is crucial not only for native speakers but also for non-native speakers who use Japanese as a second language. The objective is to generate findings that contribute to enhancing their communication skills. We gathered and analyzed data from two- and three-person conversations to explore the initiation, sustenance, and conclusion of casual dialogues. Although this research was conducted amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the results have provided some valuable insights, albeit with remaining issues to be addressed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
