Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Goals focused on augmenting the analysis of artist demonstrations via a register analysis of multi-contextual how-to texts of L1 speakers in other fields. To compensate for data collection issues caused by the pandemic, a specialized corpus of general how-to task as well as artist talks publicly available on the YouTube platform was used to compare other how-to contexts with the project's 2020 results.
Studio visits and interviews of experienced artists provided feedback on communicative functions in talks. Plans for dissemination at centers of the ceramic arts continued to face delay due to the pandemic and the postponement of programs of the original research plan. Research products included presentation of results at the 57th RELC International Conference 2023 (Singapore).
