Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the 2020 academic year I completed Stage 2 (analysis and write-up of questionnaire results) and started Stage 3: the development and implementation of a Delphi study. Questionnaire results were used to develop and implement a Round 1 (R1) survey with 32 participants. Results of R1 were analysed and used to develop the R2 survey, which incorporated a novel Q method/Delphi methodology. R2 results were subject to factor analysis and used to develop a R3 survey. R3 data collection is underway. Results so far suggest that traits (emotional stability and extraversion) and attitudes are key in the development of global competence in Japan.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I am a little ahead of my initial timeline, as I have been able to devote more time to the project than originally anticipated.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
April 2021-March 2022 Stage 3: Complete data collection for the Delphi study. Analyse results to obtain consensus-based answers to the research questions, and examine the successfulness of the methodology, especially the novel combined Q method/Delphi approach. * COVID19 impacted on my ability to disseminate the results of Stage 2 this year. I would like to do so in the coming year.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I will continue to purchase literature for my ongoing literature review. I will also continue to pay license fees for software to facilitate online data collection and analysis. In addition, I hope to be able to travel to international conferences to disseminate and discuss my preliminary findings, COVID19 permitting.
