Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the 2021 academic year I finished data collection for my study. I carried out a Modified Delphi study and analysed the final results of the study to address my research questions and develop a framework for global competence in Japan. I have published one paper with the findings of the preliminary questionnaire and submitted a second outlining the findings of the Delphi study. My results suggested that applying Western frameworks for global competence in the Japanese context is problematic, and enabled me to develop a Japan-specific framework. I continue to analyse results of different stakeholder groups to examine their different perspectives.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I am progressing in line with my plan, having completed data collection and now looking to distribute my results and discuss their implications.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In this final year of the project I will focus on further analysing nuances in my results and on disseminating my findings. I plan to attend two international conferences now that COVID restrictions have eased, publish one paper that has already been largely finished and compose one more.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I have been unable to use the portion of my budget assigned to international conference presentations and participation due to COVID-19. With restrictions easing, I am planning to present at two international conferences in the upcoming year and would like to use the remaining funds from other years to make these trips possible.
