Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
A sample of ten students and three non-student informants have been interviewed, and coding has commenced on the data. Early concepts have been developed, but the coronavirus travel limitations have affected further investigations. The coronavirus pandemic has also limited our access to new student informants, because they are at home and we are unable to reach them in a way that is conducive to worthwhile qualitative interviewing. However, we are in the process of analyzing the data that we have currently, and we have also engaged in publishing Grounded Theory and educational reports that complement the research processes and investigations, and which have further opened up new contacts and avenues for discovery.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
A major death in the family, together with the travel restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, has put our research behind our planned schedule.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We will for the moment continue to analyze and work with the rest of the qualitative data that we have collected for the moment. In the autumn, we hope to be able to travel to other research sites to continue our work.
|
Causes of Carryover |
We will definitely need research funding to visit new research sites and to conduct our investigations both in Japan and abroad.
