Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the past year, the focus of the project has been on completing analysis of the most recent iterations of the study. Results from the analysis found that the fifth step was vital to helping learners store the knowledge they had taken note of. We have also focused on preparing the study for publication and presenting the findings of the study at academic conferences both nationally and internationally. In the past year, the study has been presented at the British Association of Applied Linguistics national conference in the UK, the Korean TESOL national conference in Korea, and the Japan Association for Language Teaching PanSIG conference in Japan.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the resultant changes to teaching styles in 2020 and 2021, the study fell behind. This was compounded by work commitments in the past year, that meant less time than planned was available to focus on the study. It is hoped that now the study has entered its final year, we will be able to focus on bringing the study to completion in the coming year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The coming year will be spent on writing and presenting the findings of the whole study.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The initial plan included expenditure for attendance at international conferences in order to present the findings of the study. Due to restrictions brought about by the Pandemic in previous years and work commitments in the past academic year, we were unable to attend as many conferences as expected. In the coming year, we have the following plan for using the allotted funds: 1. Attend international applied linguistics conferences to further study the topic. 2. Attend international applied linguistics conferences in order to present our findings. 3. Purchase a laptop computer/tablet pc to help with the analysis of data, writing up of findings, and presentation of data.
