Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The monarchs in ancient East Asian countries recomposed ceremonial music in order to declare their legitimacy. In this study, based on this viewpoint, I examined the historical background of the works of ceremonial music by comparing them in each of the countries. As a result, I clarified that 'Rites of Zhou', one of Confucian classics, played a significant role in the formation of ceremonial music in ancient East Asia, particularly China.
