Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study is aimed to examine the sustainability of the long-term care insurance system based on the demographic dynamics of the elderly, as the baby-boom generation is about to enter the later stages of aging. The study quantitatively clarified the factors and their impact on the social dynamics (migration) of the elderly, which are less verified than the natural dynamics. Furthermore, the ideal form of the long-term care insurance system based on the social dynamics of the elderly was considered.
Despite the spread of the new coronavirus and the resulting delays in research execution, a total of six papers were published throughout the research period. Two of them were published in peer-reviewed English-language journals. In addition, an article summarizing the research results was published in a journal whose main readers are local government officials.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
